THE FLOATING BOX

THE BOOK REVIEW
The art book that our team chose is called Sabine’s Notebook. At first glance, it looked like an ordinary picture book, but upon reading it we found that the book was more interactive than we thought. The book pages show postcards with decorative front and correspondence on the back, some of which had envelopes containing folded letters or other types of postcards inside.
The book was engaging and interesting, not only for the reader flipping over the pages of the "postcards" and opening the "envelopes" of written letters but also because of how the two characters Sabine and Griffin continued to write letters to each other despite the distance of time and space. There was cultural art incorporated into the postcards, each culture depending on the location Sabine was visiting in the world as she wrote her letter to Griffing. What struck us the most, though, was how personal the compilation of letters were. Overall, our team concluded that the book was beautifully made and is more emotional and complex than one would expect it to be.
